If Mace Windu were to kill Sidious out of revenge/malice, or, really any reason except self-defense or defense of someone else, he would be putting himself in danger of falling to the dark side of the Force. So, while it may be morally justifiable, it would be a bad idea for Mace.

If there's no real hope of survival, then heroic measures should not be taken, BUT the preemie should still receive palliative care. Abandoning it in a room is just wrong and inhumane.
