I'm of the opinion that the IIDB forum background colour should be different than white. The strong reflection can be somewhat hard on the eyes compared to other sites (of course, really dark backgrounds can be hard on the eyes too, when reading text).
I think a shade of gray or perhaps a light green, turquoise, or aquamarine would look good. Maybe a texture would help it look easier on the eyes too.
I should say that I come from a biased perspective since I prefer to read the monitor in a dimly lit room (I always hated "classroom" style lit rooms with white flourescent lights beaming at me from every direction

Has there been any thoughts considered to changing the background colour/shading/texture at some point?

Thanks,
Jason
(yeah, yeah.. I know.
