Current population of the earth is under 7 billion at present.

I got these figures from Time in January:
1.9 billion christians
1.2 billion muslims
811 million hindus
768 million non-religious
360 million buddhists
23 million sikhs
14 million jews

As I listed above, the world population is eatimated to be approaching 6.2 billion. Additionally, one must read the caveats to the statisical estimates provided for the world's religious affiliations. Here are those estimates as of 13 June 2001.
