I've been more accepted by the atheists on this site in the past 2 days that I've been a member than I've been by Christians in general in the past few years. I don't resent Christians, though, because I used to be one, so I understand what it's like.

Isn't it obvious by the iconography? Check out secularhumanism.org's logo:

Isn't that cute? He wants to hug you! Image What's funny is that the name of this logo on the site is “happy.gif”. Image

Beats the hell outta Image , wouldn't you agree? Image

Oh, also, don't forget to visit humanism.org (which is different than secularhumanism.org) for more happy smiley huggy peoples. Image

Comedienne

Welcome to the funny farm. This is a great board and almost all the regulars will treat you with the same amount of respect that you give them.

a_theist.... Sorry you weren't received as well as our new poster. Could it have anything to do with your holier than us attitude do you think?

Hoffma I really like the emblem.

comedienne

My experience has been that new voices have been most welcome to these forums if they enter honestly, without a dogmatic chip on their shoulder, and don't attempt to corner the market on absolute truths.

I hope you don't mind but I would like to caution you not to fall into the trap of thinking that "Christian" only defines those people with an inerrant belief in the Judeo-Christian Bible. There are actually far more tolerant and thoughtful Christians around than just those you have apparently encountered over the past few years. Additionally, you may find that there are some inerrant Atheists around.

Enjoy the opportunity to express your conscience as you determine while respecting the conscience of others to do the same and you should have a ball. Welcome!

Whenever I post here, it's a love feast. I leave with a warm fuzzy feeling.

The reason the Christians are so resentful is because they are trying to protect a religion under serious assault from the Truth. Human beings matter far more than false truths and non-existent deities. Welcome to reality comedienne. When did you ditch Christianity?

I'm confused. Should we bring condiments or condom mints to this feast?

I ditched Christianity a few months ago...and yes, I DO know that there are several pissy atheists, as well as many perfectly decent Christians Image
