I just got back from watching A.I. Had I been alone, I would have gotten right back in line to see it again.

Go see this movie.

The first third or so of the movie was slow, but it was necessary to set the foundation. The rest of the movie was nothing short of amazing.

This kid, Haley Joel Osment, is a better actor than most people 3 or 4 times his age. For sure, he is a rare, natural talent, so good it's eerie. Another Oscar nomination is in the bag for him. Jude Law also turned in a really good performance, although I wished his character would have been developed more.

The special effects and visuals were amazing, as was the story. Speilberg did Kubrick justice. The movie was dark and brooding with several highly emotional parts.

The only issues I had with the movie were several editing problems that slightly disrupted the continuity, but I overlooked them pretty quickly, as it wasn't anything that affected the plot.

I highly recommend this movie, but do not take young children to it, because there are some very disturbing parts.

I am seriously considering going back to see it again tonight.

I saw the trailor - it might be too much for me, that movie - but i appreciate hearing your thoughts...(movies really affect me - it took me 4 days to get over feeling very sad after watching Titanic just on our VCR)

Oh i should have said about Atlantis - ha ha - a key part of the plot is that the main character uses this book the Shepherds Journal...LOL (it has practical information about where they needed to go, etc)

He gets teased for always reading it...

But eventually the others accept him. The characters were a fascinating mix - very diverse by profession, country of origin, interest, age...

The movie intrinsically is biased towards - less messed-with civilizations...not really surprising...falls right in with other kinds of movies which idealize ancient cultures...(that's not meant to be derogatory, though, that they do that...but really we don't know much do we?)

Also I don't think I've seen a Disney movie with so many Bible quotes in . Well I can recall one ROTFLMSO that's a lot isn't it, for a Hollywood movie?

[Changing subject LOL] Also lots of funny lines in it. I wonder how much of a kids movie it was really - but yet i'd say it didn't have any of those things that would put me off taking my kids - i.e. no overt sex - actually i can't even think of any less explicit than that (well let's hope not in a kids movie but ya never know...), very little violence actually...

It's just that it was a bit of a...complex plot...for kids, maybe. Meaning it was very 'effects' and 'ideas' oriented as opposed to bam bam bam the plot. Interesting that Disney 'went there'.
